I’ve been doing this class for almost 4 months now and it’s been a great learning experience, a good workout, and a lot of fun!! Tito is an amazing teacher who puts tons of effort into each student he teaches. He’s able to teach people of all different skill levels simultaneously. It can be hard to try something new, but Tito and everyone else in the class makes sure you feel safe, comfortable, and encouraged. Tito uses real life scenarios that are catered to NYC living and is not afraid to push his students (especially women who may be more likely to find themselves in these scenarios) so that they are prepared for the reality of living in a large city.

Progressive Krav Maga is great for beginners and experienced alike.

The instructor (Tito) is extremely knowledgeable. With his years of training as a member of NYPD's SWAT teams (ESU), he is uniquely qualified to teach Krav Maga in a way that is immediately usable and practical in the streets of New York.

Tito is friendly and personable and works very closely with everybody in class. For beginners, he is amazing at clearly demonstrating the various movements involved.

For the more experienced people, Tito's background in Muay Thai, Kali, Escrima, Silat, BJJ, and weapons (including knives and guns) allows him to convey the physiological drivers behind the different attacks as well as the the psychological motivations of the attacker themselves so that you can best optimize your defensive and escape strategies for a dangerous situation.

I've trained and competed in Muay Thai and boxing for 19 years, and Progressive Krav Maga is still providing me with new physical challenges (and a great workout) all the time.

He is there to answer any questions and makes sure you’re getting out what you’re putting in and more. The class content is genuinely very useful, no unnecessary fluff which I appreciate. If you are looking for a no-nonsense school with a highly skilled teacher who actually cares about you and your training and where you aren’t just a number - you should try this school.

I’ve been training with Tito for 4.5 years and I’ve learned an immense amount. I feel prepared to defend myself if needed, and most importantly, how to avoid tricky situations in the first place. I use the lessons he has taught me daily on the streets and subways of NYC. I couldn’t ask for a better teacher.

If you are willing to show up, put in the work, change your mindset, listen to - and take - instructions, don’t get easily offended, and don’t think you know it all, I suggest you give this school a try. You might just fit right in and find some new friends as well.

I did martial arts as a kid and for years have wanted to get back into it in some form or another. When a friend of mine said he had free passes to Krav Maga lessons I was quite excited. Well, that was 10 months ago and I am still attending. Progressive Krav Maga has a great group of people and the instructor, Tito, is superb. Classes are physically challenging, mentally stimulating, fun and functional. The mood is professional, amicable and sets high standards without being overly demanding. I highly recommend for anyone that that is interested in learning martial arts or self-defense.

Class sizes are small compared to most schools in the city, which allows for more personal attention from instructors. The school just opened a 2nd location on the Upper East Side, so now there are more class options and days to train. I highly recommend this school if you’re looking to train realistic self-defense.
