Four of us for dinner. Got one of the 3 prized parking spots in front. Parking is a risk here due to area. Broken glass in both lots behind restaurant. However, it worked out for us. Haven’t been here in about 10 years. Used to eat here often when I lived in Houston and worked downtown. Still good, outstanding service!!

Classic late night Vietnamese spot with great food and slightly dangerous location. (Watch your surroundings at night) open till 3am for something much better than waffle house or jack in the crack.

You see Anthony Bourdain featured in the menu and one can't help but set high expectations. Sadly let down by this one as I've had better Vietnamese food at the northern part of town for a fraction of what we paid here.

Vietnamese coffee was way too sweet. A lot of what we had were bland, my wife's chicken was dry, and the Pho was underwhelming. One thing that stood out was that the meatballs they use are legit meat and none of that usual extenders.

This may have been THE place back on its heyday but great Vietnamese food is everywhere in Houston. And a lot of them are usually hidden gems without the publicity nor the steep price tag.

I heard about this place from a friend and decided to give it a try. I ordered egg rolls and Bun Bo Hue soup. The egg rolls were fantastic, not only crunchy but delicious. The sauce they came with was perfect - it didn’t seem to be very sugary like they normally are. The soup was interesting - I haven’t had a one just like it before. It was nice to try.

Would definitely be open to coming back here.

High hopes but a big let down.

The beef and chicken were previously cooked, then refrigerated or frozen and then reheated for this dish (if you know, you can taste it)

The noodles were still cold and somewhat hard.

The tea and service were good, though.

There are too many good spots in Houston to eat bad food.

Haven’t been here in over 20 years. It is even better than before. Everything was fresh and seasoned correctly. Our server has great. He came by often and refilled my drink at least 5 times. I wasn’t hungry so I ordered 2 appetizers. Can’t wait to come back and try some other dishes.

Ive been going to mais since the late 90s and the food has always been great. Eaten there at least 40x. Went to dinner around 7 tonight and the food was just bad. Chicken/vermicelli bowl. Chicken was overcooked and dry, fish sauce had no flavor. Wife had a noodle dish and the sauce tasted like a bouillon cube. It was really bad. I have always loved this place but this may have been the last time.
