Lua Viet Kitchen might be tucked away in a strip mall next to the infamous Waffle Bus, but don’t let its modern aesthetic fool you. This place is all about authentic Vietnamese flavors crafted from fresh, bold ingredients you won’t find elsewhere.

Shrimp Spring Roll: 8/10
* Pros: The mint and cilantro leaves added a refreshing burst to each bite, complementing the great consistency of the roll.
* Cons: None noted, making it a standout starter.

Pork Spring Roll: 7/10
* Pros: The roll had an intriguing twist with its jerky-esque strip of pork, providing a unique texture and taste.
* Cons: The pork might be a bit too hidden for some, warranting a more fitting name like "Roll of the Hidden Pork."

Lúa Beef Soup Pho Bo: 8.5/10
* Pros: Made with USDA beef stock and 44 Farms Certified Angus beef, this pho is fully garnished with bean sprouts, onions, green onions, basil, cilantro, rice patty herbs, and jalapeño. The rice patty herb adds a citrus note with a mild cumin flavor, keeping the soup authentic with a local twist. Perfect for cheering you up on a gloomy, stuffy-nosed day.
* Cons: None noted, as the dish impressively blends traditional taste with local ingredients.

Overall, Lua Viet Kitchen is cooking up something good—you can smell it, and you’ll definitely want it. With a multitude of options on the menu, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. I look forward to trying more dishes in the near future.

I have a Gluten Intolerance and I loved the amount of items I was able to safely eat!
All GF items are clearly labeled.
I had the Chicken Pho, spring rolls and a GF Tiramisu. Everything was delicious and clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

This is our favorite go-to quick dinner spot. I recommend it to everyone for an affordable, quick, fresh meal. Highly recommend trying the shaking tofu, even if you eat meat, the flavor and crispness is so good! The beef pho is great too!

Friendly counter service for ordering. We had the shrimp spring rolls and they were delicious. The pho broth was very flavorful and aromatic with a subtle sweetness. I definitely recommend it!

The food here was a lovely find while in Montrose! They have some of the best pho I’ve ever had!

This was my favorite restaurant but lately it has been hit or miss. They weren’t friendly once but I chalked it up to a bad day that happens. They gave me cold - ice cold food once. I thought ok, maybe they don’t heat up the premade stuff. The food was half the order once. Ok, maybe they’re cutting costs. Last night I picked up food for dinner and this morning as I’m sick and don’t want to get out. The beef rice dish last night was delicious. I went to heat up the beef pho and the meat was completely raw! Not touched by a stove. The blood had run through the noodles. I’ve never ordered the beef pho. Do they not freaking cook it? I don’t know if these noodles are safe to eat after I cook the meat myself. I’m throwing it out because I don’t want to risk it. This is the 2nd time that I picked up food that they did not cook. Maybe it’s their policy and tartar? but the menu doesn’t imply that and I don’t pick up food to cook it myself. Time to give up on them.

I gave them 2 stars because when they are on, they are the best. It just isn’t worth the risk anymore to me.

Excellent Vietnamese food in a spacious and modern environment. The building itself that the restaurant is in is architecturally beautiful. The ceilings are very high and the windows are large. The food is made with fresh, healthy ingredients, and you can taste the freshness with each bite. The dish I ordered had a nice amount of vegetables, which I really liked. The outdoor seating area is very nice and has a nice view of The Menil Collection across the street. Great spot to order at the counter and have a very tasty dinner. I will be back.
