Been coming since beginning of Jan 2017. Great workout. Great training. Like how instructors throw you right into fire. It's called real life everyone. No previous experience necessary. Signed up for 18 month membership and definitely sticking with.

Just recently changed from 4 to 5 stars because as you improve and move up in level, class sizes shrink dramatically. Facility size not an issue at that point.

I have been going here for the last 3 months doing at most 3 classes a week. I have never had any martial art training before and this was my first. What stands out to me here are the instructors and they are great. I have had classes with Marc, Andy, Cassidy, Jason and few others (I cant remember their names) but they all have been great. Every instructor has his slight variations to certain techniques which is what makes it great. The classes also give you a good workout. The hard thing for me is balancing my work and class schedule. I am happy that i joined this school and my wife is too 🙂

Started coming here late February of 2020 and I can't recommend this place and activity more! When I came in for my first few classes, I was nervous due to my lack of physical ability, but the instructors were always gracious with me and kept positively pushing me to do better! All of the instructors are professional and are passionate about what they teach, and how they teach their students how to defend themselves in fighting the good fight. I have not left a single class without a smile on my face. My only regret has been not finding and joining this place much sooner 🙂

This place is awesome. The price is great compared to other martial art or self defense institutions. I've been coming here for about 7 months now, and I love every second of it. The classes are not intimidating at all and the overall environment is just fantastic.

I'll be honest - before I joined Krav Maga, I didn't have any other background in martial arts; because of that, i was little hesitant in trying this place out at first. However, after my first trial class, I absolutely fell in love with this place.

Before joining this institution, I checked out other martial arts schools. And I gotta say, at this place, doing Krav Maga, you'll have a lot more fun than doing any other martial art out there. They offer unlimited classes out here. Whether its bag class, jijitsu, or Krav Maga classes, you'll have fun regardless.

This is a really cool and professional place to train. You get physically fit quickly. Pete the Head Instructor takes it seriously that he's training you for real life situations in self defense and demands excellence. There are not short cuts here and he will let you know it. His instructors are equally insistent upon professional and detailed training and obviously he has taught them well. I have been training here for a year and a half in private training, fight class and regular classes and I am motivated to Excell as far as I can because of the quality of the instructors and their teaching methods. If you come in with a mindset of being the best you can be, then you will really enjoy it and learn something. It is very military and law enforcement friendly and reminds me of training in the US Marines--that's how good it is. Try it.

Update 25Nov11 - To the response from the owner: I came for an introductory class and that was my experience: a packed room where everyone was told to just wile out on each other. I also know two people who came here for months, one of whom ended up with permanent wrist damage due to lack of attention to form among sparring partners and equipment that was starting to weaken.

Original Review: The instructors are good at getting you pumped up and ready to exercise, but their system and set-up concerns me - they pack too many people into their tiny studio, far too many for much instructor attention to things like proper form or even safe spacing between sparring partners...

Courses I've seen for other martial arts forms have beginners start small by mastering basic moves and stances before they move on. Here, they just throw you into the deep end ... the very crowded deep end, without a lot of knowledge which seems to result in a lot of preventable sports injuries.

As a law enforcement officer I wanted to enhance my hands on contact skills and was told about this studio. It was my first introduction to KMW. Peter is a well qualified instructor owner. The first six months of classes were awesome, all the instructors were great except one. Can't remember his name but he was unprofessional. As a paying customer/student there shouldn't be any room for attitude toward those who are there to learn. I tried one fight class with another guy who was also trying it for the first time. We had no instruction about sparing until the class was over and we're told the principals. I haven't been back and now can compare to other studios. These statements are facts and why there is only 3 stars. No room for being disrespectful to paying customers from any instructor. That's my opinion!

This place is an absolute gem. If you are looking for a no BS place to come and train for REAL life situations...this is THE place to go.

I make my two sisters, and little brother attend the training sessions at this place. It gives me peace of mind knowing that they are prepared to handle the worst case scenario when they are going throughout their day.

A lot of times people wait till the worst-case scenario occurs for them to start seriously considering to learn self-defense, and I think that’s such a mistake.

My little sister at first didn’t like the classes, however, as she started interacting with the other students, she quickly felt welcomed.

People that attend this gym are always looking out for one another, helping each other improve.

This absolutely is a direct result from the level of care the instructors have for their students.

Pete, Chasity, Jason, Marc, Andy, Shawn, Jim, and the other instructors really care about making sure the students learn the technique properly.

It is very common hearing stories from current and past students who also trained at this gym about how they used the techniques they learned in real life when the unexpected occurred.

I remember Pete telling us a story of how a former female student was with her child in Old Town Alexandria when all of a sudden two females and a male attacked her....

...She was rushed to the hospital because the tooth of the male attacker was stuck in her elbow from her hitting him so hard!

Long story short, she defended herself above and beyond most MEN could do, and the three individuals ran away, and were later arrested.

This stuff simply works!

Great people, great workout, and it gives you a peace of mind!
