I haven't been able to train here as often since I moved, but this place is fantastic. The community at CDK is great. The instructors know the curriculum well and create a welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the DC area and want a self-defense gym, I highly recommend.

It was very good, very intense and meaningful training, with great explanations from the trainer what are we doing and why. I love it! and im definitely coming back. These people believe in what they are doing and trying to give you the best experience!

Been going for 8 months! My best take-away is they challenge you while wanting you to succeed. All ages and body types are welcome. Anyone can flexibly practice the moves---they focus on principles and practice---you do not need to be fit like Bruce Lee!

Classes are in groups. But the trainers rotate almost each time so I always learn something new and get an unexpected workout. The CDK team is always responsive by phone alongside emails blasts, so we always have proactive support. Gym is included as a big bonus.

The owner DJ is a good man. He and his instructors are personable and good people that you can laugh and smile with, but they also get serious they way they need to in order to push us to excellence and prepare us for defensive survival situations. They make a safe environment to train. It's a great work out and they are experts at what they're teaching. I've been going for almost 6 months and I recommend it.

I’ve been a member of this gym for 2 years and I absolutely love this program. The teaching is solid and DJ has been a great lead instructor. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in this form of self defense.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. I took my 13 y.o. to a few different places close to my home and I wasn't convinced with any. Most have mixed age groups with majority of the students in their mid 30's and up making it hard for my very shy 13 y.o. to feel comfortable. After months of looking for a good place for my kid to learn self-defense I finally decided to try CDK. I was a bit hesitant at first due to the distance from my home (mainly during rush hour) but I have to say this place is totally worth the drive. After the first intro class we knew this was it. They actually have a teens only class so all the students were around the same age. The energy and the enthusiasm in the room was contagious. After 20 minutes the kids looked like they had been working out for hours. The warm up was intense and the class was so much better than I expected. I definitely would recommend this place.
